We are a team of qualified experts who will support clients going through periods of distress and change. The team brings deep acumen learnt over many years and offers a variety of specialised business, financial, legal and reputation advisory services to bring about a successful turnaround.

Founder/CEO

Alastair heads-up and directs the Unleash Consulting network following his on-the-ground experience in Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe and decades-worth of activities in business leadership, turnaround and creation.
Elmar Burger

Associate Director & Namibia Country Head

Elmar is a corporate management consultant specializing in distressed businesses. With business rescue experience in South Africa and distressed financing sourcing he understands what businesses running into difficulty require. Elmar is uniquely located in Namibia to merge local industry knowledge with global expertise.
Richard Malcolm

Associate Director

Richard has over 2 decades-worth of experience in establishing businesses in Africa as well as a deep understanding of the African financial services regulatory environment and the practical workings of fintechs & insurtechs within the context of traditional financial services operations. He is well acquainted with cross-border money movements, both formal and informal.
George Rautenbach

Associate Director

George is a seasoned, internationally orientated Attorney who, with an MBA, is able to assess pragmatic and good-match Legal/Financial approaches to challenges and opportunities.
Quintin van der Walt

Associate Director

Quintin’s Chartered Accounting qualification and his CFO experience affords him the ability to surgically assess and model business’ financial dynamics. His asset management specialisation brings an additional layer of financial strength to the commercial operations he scrutinises.
Ida van der Walt

Associate Director

As a US-based Chartered Accountant, Ida’s perspective is both global and local since she brings with her valuable grass-roots accounting and book-keeping experience along with her CFO skill-set.
Bruce Berry

Associate Director

Bruce has extensive, Africa-wide Development Bank experience, including the training and upskilling of bank and commercial personnel at all levels of organisations.
Lawrence Trent

Consulting Partner

Lawrence is an Accountant by profession but has had many different working lives during his career, encompassing retailing, cinema exhibition, advertising & marketing, and IT Consulting and Advisory.  
He is currently involved in helping companies and organisations to improve their Cybersecurity Posture through the implementation of Corporate & IT Governance structures and frameworks.
Tony Ekron

Consulting Partner

Tony jumped into computing when the sector was still in a fledgling stage. He has become an expert in all facets of the digital landscape and is particularly adept at curtailing digital mischief and ensuring digital infrastructure is fully protected. Tony’s base is both South Africa and Germany, giving him a strong international perspective.
Paul Eloff van Marle

Consulting Partner

Paul is a qualified Financial Advisor, Practicing Attorney, Mediator & Arbitrator. During his legal career, he practiced as an Advocate as a member of the KZN Bar Association, a commercial litigation attorney at prestigious law firms in Pretoria and Mbombela and as an arbitrator and mediator in various matters ranging from negotiating commercial transactions and labour relations matters. Paul also covers Financial Advice and Estate Planning.
